Dvd is connected, but can't find a channel on Direct tv

My DVD player is connected, red, yellow, white.
Dvd player lcd indicates the movie is running, but can't get the signal on any channels.
We have Direct tv and cannot find anything on the menu for dvds.

You have to change the input to component or composite. Should be a selection in the same place you are able to select HDMI ports.

To clarify your DVD is connected to the TV not the DTV box.
You select the input on the TV not the DTV box. Use the TV remote not the DTV box remote.
DTV box has nothing to do with DVD playback.
