DVD vs VHS

I plan on getting the Dragonball Z collection and the DVD version is so much more expensive. Is there a really big difference between DVD and VHS?

Quality is much better on DVd, also DVD versions tend to get special features. Not to mention instant jump to any point in the DVD.
