Dvi vs hdmi

Hello,
should I use DVI from to the PC and then use a convertor to DVI/HDMI to the DVI/HDMI port in the TV for best resolution to watch movies from my laptop...netflix, and I would also like to use the blu-ray player from my laptop. Also I would like to have sound on my surround sound while doing all of this. My surround sound only has 1 hdmi port, it has a digital port

Well the easiest is if your pc has HDMI out, so you can just run HDMI to the TV and then take audio out of the TV and into the surround sound.

If it doesnt then you run DVI to the TV and get some RCA cables to run audio from the pc to the TV, then optical to the surround sound.
