Not sure the model of laptop you have, however you should be able to gently release the keyboard from it's socket with a screwdriver and check underneath if there is something interfering with it.

Check google for a guide on how to do this and make sure you model has a removable keyboard.

If not, unfortunately this is an issue with laptops. The keyboards sometimes don't last and you can either repair it (depending on cost) or you need to replace it. My friend has used one with "O", "L" and some other keys not working for a bit. It is a pain

Laptop's don't normally have individual keys. They are more like a connected board or clip-able interface.

well im saying that because i have 2 laptops now and working on 5 different brand/models laptops and all of them have separated keys that can be removed. Ofc he should check 1st if his model have such keyboard and maybe i should have stated that :D

Interesting. I didn't think many laptops did seperate keys as it's much more expensive for the manufacturer to fit such a setup and to house it neatly.

The keys are seperate underneath, however I believe still in most cases the plastic key cover that needs to be removed is interconnected and comes off as one big piece.

I have the same issue with my "E" key and it's intermittent. It even seems to be a software issue in that if I give the laptop enough time, or switch between programs that the key starts responding. I have an Asus ROG Zephyrus G15.
