I bought a new Eee 1015PEM yesterday. Charged the battery overnight. Turned it on this morning, saw the word Next at bottom right of screen and pressed enter (assuming it would take me into the desktop).

Wrong!!

Suddenly everything changed to oriental characters, and now it doesn't matter what keys I press everything is still in characters that I can't understand. I don't know how to get it into English.

This is my first netbook/laptop, so it is all pretty much a mystery to me.

Please help!

I suspect when the eee is starting the first time, it asked you to configure the os's language and you select something other than english. photo the screen and see if i can id the language and fix it for you (if you selected chinese that is) otherwise you can ask some other member of the forum to decipher the language for you. I am sure there are many member in this forum who knows asiatic language.
