Hi, I am trying to set up an eGPU configuration. My friend is giving me his old GTX 950 2GB, and a nice power supply. I simply need the dock for the card. My Specs: Inspiron 15R 5520, 8GB R.A.M, 1TB WD Blue HDD, Windows 7, i7-3612qm turbo 3.1, 3 years old, comes with PCI-E Mini slot inside. I was wondering what's the easiest way to get your graphics to run through your internal display? I know it can be done, but before I buy the $40 dock,(V8.0 GDC EXP Beast w/ PCI-E Mini connector), I want to make sure I can atleast run my graphics on internal display. any thoughts? I am not specifically asking for instructions on my model, just models related to, or a universal solution. short answers are fine, I just want to know if It works.

Hey ClayCraft2000!
Dude, is your setup capable of running while using an external display?
Lets figure this thing out as it would be pretty cool diy.
I have tried it with EXP GDC V 8 and it didn't work at all.
All the pc does is make a beep sound and doesn't boot(at least can't tell as the internal display is off)

Post something useful, will ya? :)

[strike]Meaning? I am not sure if my laptop will run an egPu. But I saw a guy on YouTube running a similar model to mine just fine. I also figured out using external display is better, that way the signal does not have to run two ways in a 1x slot.[/strike]
