Eliminate music from track and leave vocals

Is there a way to eliminate music from a track and leave vocals

I would actually like to be able to do the same thing but the other way around, cut vocals and leave music.

Regarding cutting vocals, I believe what most CD companies do with their "kaorake mix" is basically cut out the 100-800hz range, the fundamental frequencies of the human voice. The harmonics go up to 8KHz though so there's no way to eliminate vocals entirely.

I guess you would do the opposite with just the vocals. Either way you can't eliminate both but you can get pretty close.
