Enter administrator password or power on password

working on my brothers girlfriends hp pavilion dv5 and as soon as you turn on the computer i get the enter administrator password or power on password screen, how to i get past this or bypass this?

Tom's hardware will not help with password recovery. Unfortunately there is no way of telling if the laptop is really yours.

You contact your brother, have him bring over his girlfriend so she can type in the password. If she likes you, she might even tell you over the phone.
Bypassing passwords is not allowed here.
