Hello

I have a desktop PC that I am thinking of exchanging for a Macbook pro since mobility is becoming more and more essential for me. Windows offers a lot that OS X doesn't, so I would like to keep the hard drive of my PC that way I would use it as sort of an external hard drive i could boot into through my Macbook when I'm at home. How feasible is this idea? Is it even possible? I've looked around online and I couldn't find a solid answer. I'm currently running windows 10 on a HDD.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this!

I'm almost certain you can do it once you setup bootcamp.
I know W7 didn't work with usb 3, only W8 onwards.

Performance would be pretty terrible to load, especially comparing OSX loading from the very fast SSD.
If you do have the space and use W10 often enough, might be worth installing it internally.
