External GPU on Lenovo G580, i3-2370?

My rig :
Lenovo G580
i3 2370 with Intel integrated 3000
Nvidia GT 610M

Doubt : can I run external GPU on my system, with my internal integrated & dedicated GPU's running? (if yes, how?) Also will it benefit performance?

Yeah it would work.
You will run only dedicated EGPU.
Yes it will benefit perfomance but you will lose wifi&bluetooth adapter as sacrificial mini PCIE, it won't have its full potential but you're gonna play new games.
10 series aren't supported (GPU 1080 etc.).
