External Graphics Card for Macbook Pro

So I am looking to get an external graphics card for my Macbook Pro. I wanted to possibly get a 1080 ti and because of the issues with the drivers I was just going to dual boot to Windows. Would this be a possible or solution or would it still cause issues since I am ultimately still using a mac?

Unless you use the mac for specific apple programs, I would sell it and get a higher end gaming pc laptop. That comes down to personal preference tho. I dont like macbooks, but you may like it enough that you dont want to get rid of it or need it. Running the external gpu is expensive and not worth it.
