External hard drive G: access issue

I am unable to access my external hard drive G:
I am getting error as "G:\ is not accessible. Error performing inpage operation.

Also while performing CHKDSK G:\ R i am getting below mentioned error -


"Access denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode."

Have you tried running the command as an administrator? Have you checked your security privileges on the external drive?
