Nah they just have shareholders who are tiring of the fact that in spite of such a large user base facebook really doesn't know how to make money from them. I would expect even more of this bullshit in the future if users let it slide.

From their last quarterly report, they brought in $1262M and had a met loss of $36M [essentially break-even with a revenue like that]. They have billions of dollars from selling off a portion of the company, but they didn't make anything last quarter above expenses.
