Fake SMTP server

I am searching for a free tool that would allow me to test my email system delivery.

Does anyone has any experience with that?

So if I understood this correctly you are developing some kind of website/application that would be required to send out email messages right?
Maybe this could help https/www.hmailserver.com/ but you could just as well use the real thing such as gmail (you can configure it to gmails smtp server) unless your app plans on spamming for example...
