fans kicking in every 10 seconds

why are my fans starting up every 10 seconds and running fast on my home computer, its only just started doing this. I use my computer about 3 times a week so its not like its working constantly

It has more to do with heat than how long it's been on. Perhaps you're just running some intensive programs that requires your laptop to push itself harder?
