Fastest laptop for my budget? ($700)

I made the mistake of blindly buying a laptop because its features(large 17" screen, dolby surround sound,4g's RAM,570g HDD,stylish look)
but unfortunately this laptop has never been a speed monster?
It is a HP pavillion G7 -2323dx and has a AMD A8 4500M CPU, AMD Radeon HD 7640G GPU
and built in surround sound by altec.
anyway, thinking about buying another laptop that will be much faster for surfing the web?
I surf,watch youtube,movies and download on the laptop so the components need only to be
a good fast cpu,minimum 1920x1080 resolution(my HP is only 1600x900)
250g hard drive and at least 8g's RAM.

What exactly is slow about it? Even something much weaker in performance should handle web browsing and such with ease. 4GB of RAM, almost any current AMD or Intel CPU, and any hard drive should perform well for such a light workload. I would say that maybe an SSD might help, but web browsing is one of the only things that an SSD doesn't really help because that's more limited by the internet connection.

well it seems slow to load pages and images. noticed i am using over half my RAM?
dont understand how i can be using 53% of the available RAM when the pc is idle?
i even use a low resource antivirus so it does not eat up too my RAM, i use windows defender
But on another note i do want the higher resolution screen as well
like i said this one is 1600x900 and i want at least 1920x1080 (1440p would be even better!)

That is a very nice laptop and i really like the components!
Much better than my HP i paid $425 for!

This is great for everything but gpu intensive games.
Intel HD Graphics 5500 can play LOL and many others games though.

The AMD cpus are noticeably weaker then their intel counterparts but even still it should not be bad for generic web use and movies.

either as long as it is 1920x1080 and powerful.
and i agree the AMD's do not impress me.
when i had a i5 laptop is was very fast for surfing and i used the same internet server.

If you want even more performance.
swap out HDD for an SSD drive for $100. You can also remove DVD drive and get caddy to hold old hard drive in DVD drive slot if you need to hard drive storage space.

I see so on those you would rely solely on the USB with a flash drive right?

Pretty much. You could also get a USB optical drive, but then you might want to get a laptop with a drive installed instead.
