And your point is? Men and women should respect each other, sending such pics is not respectful. And adults should not be sending such pics to children.

To the kid: "You got what you deserved. Legally, you might also deserve to go to jail, but I'm sentencing you to 40 hours of community service for the Public Library, hopefully a place quiet enough where you'll get to think about how you'll live your life."

To the dad: "You went too far. Everyone knows it. You know it. But we also know why you did it, and I don't see that you're a public menace. Guidelines suggest you deserve jail time, so I'm giving you a one year suspended sentence; you'll serve it if you don't keep your nose clean, but I think you will."

"Court is adjourned."

i have a few questions...

How did dad find out about this picture? if the daughter went to him then he should have gone to law enforcement.

Was this girl consenting? or perhaps exchanging?

Anyway you look @ it, i think this 23 year old might have mental issues and should be examined, especialy if the girl is not consenting. This guy could be a monster and this was just the beginning. Next is flashing or something, then rape... Like who send nude pics as a "joke"...

Dad should be charged with all sorts of things here... totaly out of line. It is just a picture, your daugter is 17 and likely already had sex many times. I am sure she has seen porn as well. however it is possible the girl is emotionaly damaged from the incident, perhaps she sees this guy as a preditor and feels for her safety?! If anyone were to send a pic of my penis to a 40yr old woman (age doesn't matter in this case)randomly it is likely she would be disturbed and/or threatened...

the man should be arrested.

Sorry folks, but this kid committed a sex crime against a minor by sending that photo. This is illegal. Yes, the Dad went a little overboard, but so what. The scumbag 23 year old hopefully will get some jail time and have to register as a sex offender. And don't give me that "well, she'll have to see one some day" - thats a load of crap. SHE needs to choose when and where that will happen. Not some pervert off the street. Would you like me to come over and expose myself to your younger sisters? That's the same thing.

This is absolutely ridiculous, especially after seeing many of the comments posted on here and other websites.

Yeah, Moore sent a nude pic to a "minor" (17 year old girl? such an innocent age, huh?) and probably should get slapped by the law. While still rather stupid, it's acceptable... however, this guy is about as threatening as that hardcover picture book that has drawings and artwork of scary dragon-like creatures that you show to your imaginative toddler sometimes before she goes to sleep at night. The article Tom's links to states that the daughter and her brother already knew Moore as a friend... maybe she was even soliciting (or jokingly soliciting because she's, you know, a teenager) the man for pictures.

William Atwood is clearly absolutely deranged... or, at least, enough to actually shoot a shotgun at ANYONE (who isn't a threat to one's life) and abuse a forcibly yet ironically half-naked "pervert" with a stun gun, clearly with the intent to either totally humiliate Moore or to even essentially end his life.

The girl's 17, not 2. I'm pretty sure she can defend herself with such a issue (if she even feels obligated to). Stop treating your kids as if they are unable to think for themselves; otherwise, they WON'T be able to. The father should barely even have any involvement in the minor's case - it's about sending a picture to a minor, not the father of a minor...

A 17 year old girl has seen (probably not nearly for the first time) what almost half of the human population on this planet has between their legs, with much more than half having seen such things to begin with.
I'd prefer it if was MUCH more important to humanity that less than one percent of the human population sees someone pointing a shotgun with malicious intent towards them or experiences being all strapped up while being humiliated and tortured by a psychotic individual.

wow way to go off the deep end. When I was 15 I had my own car and did stupid stuff like all boys do, but pointing a guy at someone and then tieing them to a chair is way over the top and all for a 17 year old woman? She could go off and fight in a war for your country next year. She does't need you to fight off sexters today.

wow no pedobear comments yet. the comments made so far either agreeing with the dad or argreeing with the kid only show me who the children are and the parents are.
both are guilty, i wouldn't be suprised if the kid winds up on a sex offender list or child molestor watch list, not to mention jail time for FCC violations. children these days make it so easy for the feds to lock them up and throw away the key " disregard that key evidence they broke the law with that camera on their phone and emailed it to some one else who made it go viral on the web and it was posted all over every ones facebook". facebook never deletes anything, that data is considered facebook property forever, go reread the TOS. statute of limitations only applies to the date of discovery now as lawyers have legally changed the meaning of the law with presidents established since before 1998. even if you are 99 years old, if found out to be breaking code or the law for something you did 75 years ago, lawyers can go after you.
play it safe and watch your backs.

what they forgot to mention was the pedobear sticker on the boys car :)

I agree 7 years older is way to much, and if this king of thing happend to everyone who did stomthing like this there would be a lot less stupid people in the world.

That is pretty freaking funny. Any 23 year old man sending my 17 year old daughter pictures of any kind is going to tote a serious beating.

You don't want this happening to you? Then don't do stupid ****. Simple as that. There are consequences for your decisions and accountability for your actions. Here's your sign....

For all those saying that this guy deserves to be on a sex offender registry, stop and think about what that means for a minute. He won't be able to get a decent job, he will have a difficult time finding somewhere to live that complies with all of the limitations put upon him (a group of sex offenders in Florida were found living under bridge because it was the only place in that town that met all the requirements), and it will follow him everywhere, all because he showed a picture of his dick to a (slightly) underage girl. Yeah, it wasn't smart, and it was technically illegal, but methinks the proposed punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Regarding the father, I agree that he went too far. He even went to the extent of making a false police report (he invited the boy over, so he wasn't trespassing). Not to mention firing a shotgun over his car, tying him up, and torturing him.

how about this. In many states in the U.S. getting caught pissing in public puts you on a sex offender list so how is sending nude pictures to a minor not worse??? I fully support the father who did this, the little tool bag pervert needed to be taught a lesson. When did America lose it's sense of accountability. You do bad shit=Consequences
and to those you may say who am I to judge.. I am the one who finds it inconceivably wrong to send nude pictures to someone's teenage daughter; that gives me the right to judge. Good people have the right to judge bad people. There is no interpretable b.s here, it's wrong to do what he did, morally and legally. THE END

In what he claims was part of a joke, Moore sent a picture of his genitals with his cell phone to Atwood's daughter and other friends.
I guess everyone missed this part? The guy didn't send the pic to the girl only but she was part of a group. I think the guy is at fault with the law but I hope the father spends at least a year in prison for kidnapping and torturing a person.

At gunpoint, Moore was ordered by William Atwood Sr. to strip to his boxers and then bound him to a chair using zip ties. Atwood then used a stun gun on Moore's neck and threatened to bury him in the Pechanga Indian Reservation.
Wow, just wow. I read that and was horrified.

[citation][nom]Stoogie[/nom]that father is stupid, he was in the wrong in all places there. You do know that u have a option to view pictures or attachments sent by people, and its ur own fault for opening something like that up to begin with. so in otherwords its not a crime to send disgusting pictures.[/citation]
-1 and darwinism will reward you someday soon i can only hope.
it is illegal to send sexual, lewd or threatening communications per FCC regs. it is law and a felony. ask the FCC or the FBI, local law enforcement barely knows federal laws, so it doesn't pay bother them.

The more I contemplate this, the more I realize I'd much rather have people like Atwood Sr. living in my neighborhood, maybe holding elective office, etc. There's a guy who stands for something. That it has become "extreme" is just a sad commentary on the general decline of [American] society. It isn't a matter of prudery, but of common decency.

I say the father should have still bound him to the chair with the zipties, but not have done the part where he tased him and threatened to bury him. Instead, he should have tied him up, placed the cellphone in front of him with the picture showing, then called the police and have them arrest him for indecent exposure, attempted child molestation, attempt to solicit pornography to a minor, or whatever other charges could be dug up.

Humiliating, torturing and threatening the guy is where the father lost control. However, detaining a criminal and presenting the evidence ... I see nothing wrong with that.

Maybe the father should have took the dick picture, took a picture of Moore, created a Facebook account for Moore and ensured that everyone on the internet got to see the kind of man Moore is. If Moore wants to share his dick that much, then maybe the whole world deserves to see it.

The father could have called the cops and had him arrested as a sexual predator... he sent lewd pics to a minor. Being labled a Sexual Predator on his permanent record would have caused way more damage than a couple taser shots... community embarrassment, unable to get a job, limited places to call home, court costs, maybe jail time, parole... instead, the father is the one in trouble. What a moron...
