It's always someone else's job to stand up for you, isn't it? The time to be outraged was when the Patriot Act was passed. They can ignore the Constitution so long as you're a terrorist. When does a terrorist become a dissident, or anyone who disagrees with the government? The change is gradual, but it's effects are hard to reverse. By the time you grow a pair the police will be equipped with military grade hardwear, some of them are already.

This isn't about common civilians. This is about criminals. As criminals increase their technology, you expect our police and FBI to just stand back and watch? They have to make bigger and better tools just to stay in the game. Personally I am glad they are developing new tech to help capture and prosecute these criminals easier.

I still find it interesting that many people don't realize that literally any electronic device can be hacked. Heck, even criminals are using some of these life intruding hacks on individuals. Even then, what's stopping someone behind the scenes just skipping the warrant procedure, etc.? Nothing really unless they are caught whilst everyone else looks over at that shiny silver object.

Turn your phone off, then.

Get your facts straight before you post a "solution". Turning off your phone is no guaranteed way of shielding yourself from this sort of thing--It can still occur using said turned off phone.
