Solved! FIIO X5 2nd Gen only noise

My FIIO took a fall (broken belt clip) and now only gives me a loud high noise whilst in play mode. Functions, wheel and arrows work (poorly as is widely know) but are doing as they did prior to the fall. Any suggextions?

I would guess a broken circuit board trace.

4 years of use might translate to "dead".

You could crack the case open and look for any physical damage. Nothing to lose at this point. A broken trace on the board should be reparable.
