files show not viewable

I took some pictures at the weekend some show on the camera, other say unable to view. downloaded to the PC but unable to open them. Has anyone got any ideas if I can recover these or are the lost forever?

im guessing your using windows photo viewer. Would try this program : http/www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=207
