Find a phone number who called on verizon

Hello,
An old Army friend called me on my Verizon home line recently and was going to send me an email.
However, my Outlook filter deleted the email wihout putting it in my Junk mail folder.I never saw it.
How can I either retrieve the deleted email? How can I find the phone number he called me on?

For the email, contact your ISP. Although if the email was delivered, and you have it set to delete from the server and Outlook opened it, you probably won't get it back.
For the phone number, contact Verizon.
