Solved! Firestick no sound thru sony BDVE3100 5.1 Channel HTS thats connected to a projector

Got a firestick that I need to connect to my sony br ss hts that's connected to hitachi cx-2010 projector using a HDMI to VGA with a 3.5mm Audio cable. When I connected it to a switch I the picture was projected but no sound played my sony HTS surround sound. Please help!

You need an HDMI input selector with audio extraction.

Connect all your HDMI sources (including the Firestick) to the inputs.
Connect the HDMI out to the VGA converter and that to your projector.
Connect the spdif digital audio out of the switch, that matches the one on the HTS, to the HTS SPDIF audio input.

Would this work the same way as the monoprice extractor?
