How do I connect the Firestick so it plays through my TV receiver sound system.?

Depends on your TV and receiver model, and how the receiver is connected to it. TV optical out to the receiver would work, as will using an HDMI input on the receiver to hook the firestick to.

Connect it to the hdmi on the AV, turn on cec on the TV and Av that should do it

Here's what I do, and it costs $11 rather than a even buttload for a new graphics card for your computer.
You simply plug in the supplied Optical cable from the back of your TV, and it has one, to this AV output.
WHATEVER is showing on the screen is what comes out of the optical cable. and thus comes out as L & R audio out
to run to a stereo, or RF headset, or whatever you want. I love mine, that I use for a RF Senheiser remote headset.
