a friend has a bunch accessory lenses for a Minolta 135 body. he wants to buy a Minolta digital body that will "use" the old lenses. i think the problem will be automatic exposure functions. can you give me information?

Solution
Make sure that Minolta has not changed the lens mount in the body that is being considered.

Another factor to consider is that film camera lenses on new digital bodies (like Nikon) will crop the picture to about two-thirds of what is view-able through the view finder. And, the auto-focus may not be compatible.

If your friend is a serious photographer, this may be a good time ti switch brands - Nikon!

If the film camera had an auto exposure capability then a digital camera would probably have the same capability. Your friend should be able to determine what series of lenses he/she has and find out if the contacts on the lenses are compatible with current digital bodies.
