Folio 9470m fan noise

I just returned an HP Folio 9470m after using it for 15 minutes. The high pitched fan noise coming from the unit, while idling, was annoying. The fan noise became even more high pitched and annoying when doing anything. After having looked at the bulletin boards, I found a long history of fan noise complaints dating back to April 2013 - with no apparent, clear resolution. It is beyond me how an issue of this type could be present and unresolved for more than a year. Te I will NOT do the devil's dance in working with the HP Support team from India or submit to sending in a new laptop for repair - which apparently others have done with great frustration and no success. Perhaps I should buy a Macbook.

exactly how I feel. if I buy something new and it doesn't work perfect, back it goes. I'm too old to fiddle with something that should work right to begin with; wasting my valuable time.
