Hello,
my acer lap top screen will not light up, i had this lap top since april 2010, it will come on and all is working just the screen will not light up dont know what to do, i got the acer quick guide

Attach an external monitor to it to verify the video is working. If so, it would likely be the backlight has died and needs replacement (fortunately an inexpensive repair)
