I am trying to connect my Hp pavillion laptop to a sony bravia television using a HDMI to HDMI cable the sound is coming out perfectly but there is no signal, the message on the tv says" unsupported signal, check device output" how do i solve that problem.Please may you assist me with this.

What is the laptop's current screen resolution? Is it a setting supported by the TV.

For a 720p HDTV try setting the laptop's screen resolution at 1280x720.

If you have a 1080p HDTV try setting the laptop resolution to 1920x1080.
