Free recovery disc for Toshiba C55-A5308

I need to factory reset a laptop that was gifted to me! Is there a free download available for it , or will I need to purchase the disc. How can I tell the age of my PC?

Does the laptop powers on?
Does it boot to Windows?
If the laptop has the original disk , there could be a HDD partition with the recovery on it.
