Frozen Laptop with SSD

Hi, I got Dell laptop from my friend. He said it's lock-up by password software maybe? And now can not turn on (battery was full charge). He have no idea how he gonna fix it. I think it might need new Windows install to make it work again. And another problem is...it don't have DVD drive, just USB port. I try open up the back cover it's look like Solid state hard drive in there. I'm just old school computer user and have no idea how to make it run again. We try to figure out but still no idea how to make it. Thanks for you reply.

Does it turn on if plugged into the power adapter? Can it turn on without the battery installed (just power adapter plugged in)?
Go to IFixIt where you can search the dell model number, good chance they'll have some info in there

Everything in good shape and in place when I got it. Just did not turn on.

Try resetting the laptop by unplugging it, removing battery, press and hold power button for 30 seconds - reinstall battery, plug in, see what you get then.
