hi,

i got the soy vgnfw235j with this cpu:

i would like to upgrade to a cpu with intel vt
1) woudl that one fit?

2) what do i need to pay attention to when looking for a better cpu?

While it may work. You may also have 2 issues. First, the BIOS may not recognize the desired VT capabilities you are upgrading for. The only way to verify that this will indeed work is to check with Sony to see if your system ever shipped with a CPU that supported VT (and those CPUs).

Second, the upgraded CPU is faster and will generate more heat. That being the case, you may exceed the cooling capacity of the heatsink/fan.

Unless you truly need VT, I would suggest you not upgrade the CPU. If you do need VT, it might be time to buy a whole new rig.
