[citation][nom]rex86[/nom]what's with the ceramic case?[/citation]
It's probably an attempt to give it a classier look than plastic. Plastic phones tend to look cheap. Aluminum and ceramic cases look a lot nicer and feel better. Since ceramics come in a wide variety of forms (anywhere from glass to tungsten carbide) it's difficult to say what form they will use.

Why did my phone have to break now? I was hoping my old flip phone would hold out until this came out, but it stopped working so I am "stuck" with a galaxy s2. It is still the best phone ever, though. I love it. So much.

O.O will it be able to play blue ray movies from .iso files ? conexions for tv's ?or mini hmdi output. this function would be the best for me ha Home Teather CellPhone ! 😀 or is it to much imagination ?

macfan123: trolling samsung articles are we now? does your iphone do your math for you? drumsrule786 is right.
quick rundown for macfan123
a 4.8" screen with a 16:9 ratio gives W:L dimensions of 2.35":4.18".
1080p = 1920x1080 pixels
1080 pixels/2.35" = 459ppi
or 40% more than the iphone.

The picture is definitely a rendering but is ti a rendering of the actual phone? Hard to say. I see a dedicated camera shutter button which is a departure from previous versions. 1080p seems pointless but why not? Are there any other ceramic phones out their?

can the other cores be disabled? like to save battery, or at least similar to desktop that saves energy when not needed, like sending out sms.

if they pull this one i will proly get one to replace my wave1

4.8 inches is just to big and htcs upcoming tergra 3 powered phone looks to be more pocket friendly and will be plenty fast enough. More than 4.3 inches is just to big, sure the screen takes up just about the whole front but it is getting to the point where it just wont fit in your pocket. Or is it so big the hide the fact it need a massive battery to power the quad core.

[citation][nom]glasssplinter[/nom]Very true. I've got an Evo 4G that if I take out the button area and make the borders thin like this I could have a a little over a 4.75" screen which is 0.45" over the spec screen now.[/citation]

Still, Galaxy Nexus is still larger in size, which is uncomfortable. GS2 has the best size of all phones. It disappoints me that they increased the size rather than having the same "Galaxy S" size-family.

Gorgeous phone. Sydney picture for a reason I bet :) Just hope there will be a stylus support. Screen is huge. Be nice to have in lectures for some hand written notes.

WAW i hope the phone will look like the one in the picture and it will be the PERFECT "phone" ( mobile phone, tablet, computer, web browser, etc etc ) and i will buy it . PS i am glad they got rid of the buttons and make them in the screen with software like the nexus, it is so 2012 :)

[citation][nom]archange[/nom]Apple lawsuit. Again. Don't know the reason yet, but there will be one.[/citation]

I'm sure it'll be because they were thinking of making an extreme minimalist phone like this... and will patent after the fact too.

I can't wait for this thing, everyone has a s2 while I'm stuck with my sgs4g... this will make a nice upgrade.

I really do not hope the 1080p is a reality. It will absolutely kill battery life, not to mention the uselessness of the small pixels. 720p would've been fine. With 3D.

Also, I hope they bring back the camera button. I have the SGS (not SII) and the lack of camera button is among the biggest issues I have with the phone. Taking self-pictures or pictures where you cannot clearly see the screen and where to tap the "capture" button is a chore without the camera button.
