[citation][nom]rooseveltdon[/nom]Nah Apple is usually a cycle or two behind when it comes to hardware refreshes especially compared to samsung.[/citation]

Obvious troll is obvious.

Even the iPhone 4 had a better screen than the SG2. The iPhone 4S has led the performance charts for the past 5 months and will continue to do so for the next couple at least, at which point the iPhone 5 may come out.

Gotta say though, I LOVE the look of this phone (SG3). I would be very tempted to buy it if they get all their ducks in a row.

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]Unless it has a 5000mAh battery it won't last more than 3-4 hours.[/citation]
I see some posts thumbed down and wonder why, then I realize there are a bunch of trools on here or Tom's is doing it themeselves, that wouldn't surprise me. 12 Ghostery hits on this page.

Unfortunately, it isn't trolls (as such) or Tom's doing it themselves. It's the groups of Android fans who down-vote anything which even comes close to criticising Android or any Android phone. They are actually far more fanatical than most Apple users.

[citation][nom]Cons29[/nom]can the other cores be disabled? like to save battery, or at least similar to desktop that saves energy when not needed, like sending out sms.if they pull this one i will proly get one to replace my wave1[/citation]
It's not the cores that are power-hungry (if anything, having them will save battery), it's the LTE radio. Fortunately, that can be disabled if not needed, or Samsung can decide to put in a big battery like Moto's Droid Razr Maxx.
The ceramic case will help avoid any antenna-gate like iP4.
The resolution if anything is excessive; 720p would have been more than enough. However, given the fact that Super Amoled Plus technology turns off pixels that are not used, saving power this way, and is the only technology that gives you true outdoors (sunlight) readable screens (the competition only gives you a washed image, unless they crack up the brightness to about 700 nits), I don't have anything negative to say about it. I will wait for this phone to upgrade my aging Nexus S (which still has a better screen than my friend's iP4 - every time we go outside he complains about it, and when I asked him to crank it to max or leave it on auto, he says it kills his battery... well, I believe he's ready for a SGS3 upgrade, as well).
I hope they keep the microSD slot and the user-replaceable battery. ICS will help get rid of bloatware (if any), so all in all this can easily turn out to be the phone of 2012.

THis is amazing sounding! I'm a HTC fan but i've been saying that i wanted a larger screen on my phone for quite some time! like 5-5.5" to have as a hybrid phone/tablet and this is the best thing i've seen so far. This may be the first phone to get me to ditch HTC! Wonder if HTC will release something as amazing in a similar time frame!

The reason I like both this design and the talk of edge-to-edge screens on the iPhone as well - is that you get a bigger screen without increasing the size of the phone.

Fair enough to people who like the Samsung Note - but for me it's just ridiculously big and impractical for that reason. I do, however, recognise that a bigger screen could show things in more detail and generally look better - so if you take the same form factor as the SG2 or the iPhone 4, and make the screen almost take up the entire phone, I reckon you're onto a winner.

Wow, this phone does look amazing. The wife is up for a new phone in July or so, not sure if I want to give her my Galaxy Nexus and pick up one of these. This phone certainly has better hardware, but I really like getting OS updates as soon as they are released and for the life of the phone. Samsung (and others) really needs to start updating the OS of their older Android devices if they want to keep me as a customer. I hate the Apple ecosystem, but at least they get OS updates in a timely manner.

if the phone has such tiny bezel edges, how will you be able to attach a protective case? it was tricky enough with the previous generations. I'm not crazy about NO bezel and a total hell experience trying to protect the damn thing.

GOD I'm so sick of all tech going to cell phones. Why would you need full HD on such a tiny screen? the original Galaxy could not even make it through a full movie on 100% battery, so what are you going to use all that resolution for anyways? Give us high pixel density monitors already! we should be at triple the current monitor resolution!

[citation][nom]macfan123[/nom]The iPhones has a higher pixel density @ 326ppi.[/citation]
If the phone really has a 4.8" FullHD LCD, then the screen has a much higher ppi than the iPhone 4. The iPhone screen has about 330 dpi, this supposedly screen would have about 460 ppi.

Samsung already surpassed my expectation as a phone company. I used to be a Nokia fan, but now, only Samsung can fulfill my dreams.
While waiting for the S3 , I'll go for the Notes which is immediately available.

[citation][nom]rex86[/nom]what's with the ceramic case?[/citation]
Some ceramics are amongst the toughest and hardest substances on the planet, such as zirconium dioxide or boron carbide used to make those really expensive chef knives, brake pads on sports cars, ballistic armour vests for repelling high calibre rifles, Toyota R&D once made a ceramic car engine that could run at 6000 fahrenheit and didn't need a cooling system, they can be used for dental implants or even synthetic bones.

Yes, if this thing has a ceramic case I think it will be good thing, don't you?

Actually you get thumbed down not because you like Apple, but because you are a 4 star cnut

A true 1080p display at a size of 4.8” translates to 459 pixels per inch.

1” of S III image displays 6.37” of the image on an average LCD desk top monitor. You need a pair of eye as sharp as a Leica camera lens to fully appreciate such a super fine display!

I do have a pair of sharp eye. Do you?
