hello i have bought new laptop just two days before, it is hp au134tx , it has core i5 7th gen processor 8GB RAM 1TB HDD 1080p resolution and 4 GB dedicated Nvidia 940MX DDR3 graphics. the problem i am having is :

i installed 2 games pro evolution soccer 2016 and pro evolution soccer 2017, both the games i have kept to max settings and full resolution. now when i run the game sometimes both games run at 60 fps (stable throughout gameplay) but many times both games while running fps keeps dropping to 11-12 fps from 60 fps. but when i restart my laptop or game 2-3 times , both the games again run at 60 fps (stable) and smoothly. Can anyone tell me what is causing this problem? pls help me as soon as possible.

Do you feel the laptop getting very hot? I wwould get a monitoring software to see what the temps are. sounds like it could possibly be reheating and then when you restart it , it has time to cool down

This could be a couple of things:
- play with power plugged in
- check your power settings, make sure they are set to maximum performance, and not to battery saving.
- The 940mx is a disappointing GPU, it cannot run many games on max settings
- Laptops sometimes have cheap/bad cooling, HP is no exception. As they start to overheat your system is throttled down to prevent overheating. You can counter this by adjusting cooling to max performance/max noise, or use a laptop cooler.

There is an application by the name "HP Cool Sense" which is turned ON, so should i turn it OFF ?
This software automatically adjusts fan speeds depending upon the laptop state (stationary or working).
