Just recently bought a new MSI GE72MVR 7RG that comes with an amazing GTX1070 and a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ. I've found that the majority of the time it runs games perfectly on mostly all ultra settings at a solid 70-80fps. However sometimes for example when i'm on GTA V when i'm just driving around or there's an explosion the fps will suddenly dip very low and then back up to 60-80 which looks very jarring. I noticed this was also a problem in older games I had tried like Modern warfare 2 and Black ops 1. I have my laptop set to high performance and have my charger in when playing games. I also have a good air supply/cooling pad.
Any suggestions??

Question from Skyast : "MSI GE72MVR 7RG with GTX1070 & Intel I7-7700HQ facing frequent FPS dips whilst gaming!"

Even when changing the majority of my settings down to only High instead of what it recommended for my 1070 to begin with, i'm still receiving very irritating frame dips when i'm both driving around or just shooting in general. The dips themselves last only a second two and usually have my fps go down from 80-100fps to around 30fps for 1-2 seconds. It's extremely noticeable and very frustrating. I've even noticed this happen in games such as The Witcher 3 and Modern Warfare 2 (which is an old game and should run flawlessly). The highest I've seen my GPU/CPU temps at are 70, is this normal? Anyone got any suggestions cause I'm completely out of ideas.

My Shift is on turbo mode, my fan is on auto and i have a laptop cooler to try and help the temps. Battery mode is on high performance and I've set Nvidia control panel to "prefer maximum performance" for GTA.

Ive got the exact same problem, exact same setup too, changing settings does nothing and it happens in literally every game even old or basic games, seems to be something on this specific notebook

Honestly not happy at all as a customer considering I spent £1400 on the thing. Really tempted to see if I can get it returned if this keeps up or isn't fixed..
