Gaming Laptop or Desktop and Cheap Laptop

I'm going to be a senior in high school this coming year and was wondering if I should get a gaming laptop or make my own gaming desktop this year and buy a laptop next year for homework and web browsing in college. I'm ok playing games on high instead of ultra. I'm currently interested in this MSI laptop for gaming: http://

Personally, I never liked the cramped quarters gaming on a laptop. My personal choice would be a desktop for gaming and an inexpensive laptop for everything else. And going to the extreme... You'll never get a laptop with the gaming power of a desktop. It's just physics.

No one will recommend a gaming laptop. This is Tomshardware.

That said, since you will be a high school senior, a desktop and cheap laptop might be the best choice.
