So I have an HP computer, with a quad core processor and an AMD graphics chip. I usually run between 57C and 60C when playing games like Diablo 3 and similar titles. I saw that recently I hit 66C playing Sword Coast Legends. I have the CPU on a elevated ventilation device, and external fans blowing on it. It is a 17 inch screen. Is 66C hot?

Lots of GPU's hit at least 80degC.

Be careful with external fans. Even if they are directly in line with the laptop fan they may overpower it and cause problems. Blowing at 90 degrees to the vent is a safe bet and the lowered pressure does help remove heat.

I position the fans so they are blowing behind the vent which is located on the side of the CPU. The intake fan is on the bottom of the CPU, so I'm trying to increase the airflow beneath it. It is sitting on a cooling pad that has no fans, but numerous holes and an elevated base.
