Sup'

I got a friend of mine to play WoW, but his current laptop was full of virus and wouldn't download the game properly, so he's considering buying another one. He's not a big PC gamer, so he will probably only play Warcraft. Therefore, he doesn't need a beast and doesn't want to buy something too expensive. Anyways, his budget is around 500$, not higher than 700 and he will only play World of Warcraft on normal settings.

I'm counting on your good advices, community!

;-)

P.S.: WoW requirements, minimum

CPU: Intel® Pentium® D or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2
GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® 6800 or ATI™ Radeon™ X1600 Pro (256 MB)
Memory: 2 GB RAM

Recommended:
CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 2.6GHz or better
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT, ATI™ Radeon HD 4830 (512 MB) or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM

I didn't put the OS since it will surely be Windows 8.1.

Unfortunately AMD isn't offering much in the way of laptop GPUs currently, and it seems to be even more rare that they are implemented. Something from Nvidia like the 840M is a fine option. Be aware that the processor in the computer usamamax linked is a fairly slow dual-core meant to reduce power consumption. This will reduce performance a bit compared to other Core i5's. You'll have a tough time finding more for under $700 in a new laptop, though.

i have been using my laptop with i5 4210u for a year now and it gives me 30+ fps while playing battlefield 3 and my gpu bottlenecks the cpu every time. i5 4210u is not a bad option for daily usage and for playing WoW at medium settings..but still if you want a future proof processor then wait for amd kaveri apu or add 99$ and get this

Didn't say it was a bad option. In fact I said he'd have a tough time finding anything better. Just wanted to mention that it's not the performance you might expect out of a Core i5. I find the Core i5/i7 naming on those low-power "U" CPUs a bit misleading, especially for those that aren't familiar with reading through hardware specs. Sorry if you thought I was attacking your suggestion, that was not my intention.

The OP didn't ask for a beastly computer or mainstream gaming laptop.

The Core i5 (which is more than enough for this game) and GT 840 will be able to play on medium settings just good.
