my video display is jumpy, i connected it to another external monitor and it was fine, so thinking it's my screen any other troubleshooting I should do first before purchasing a screen

If moving the screen to different positions eliminates the jumpyness, it may just be a video cable that needs to be replaced.

If it's jumpy in any position, it is probably the screen.
