Gateway M-153X or Acer Aspire 7720

I'm looking to get a laptop under $1000, so far i've found these 2 that seem the best. It'll be mainly for media, internet, some word. Although i was hoping to be able to take it to the rare lan or two, instead of carrying my pc around for byoc lans. graphic power isnt a must ill play low setting for higher fps anyway, just as long as it will play games like cod4 on low ( think both of these should handle that). The only thing is the low battery life which brings me to the question, can i upgrade the battery myself?

Which is the better choice or if you guys got a better laptop plz post the link. thx

The Gateway has a slight edge on paper: more RAM, better graphics. and $100 cheaper, so. . . Gateway.

My personal opinion is also that Acer's feel very cheap. My friend has one and it feels like it's going to break if you pick it up by one of the corner's.
