gateway windows file corrupted

my gateway is not coming on to the proper home page. it says that my windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM...... IT ALSO SAY THAT.....: YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS FILE BY STARTING WINDOW SETUP USING THE ORIGINAL SETUP CD-ROM. SELECT "R" AT THE FIRST SCREEN TO START REPAIR...... Please help me solve this issue

i dont have the disk either, it doesnt have a disk drive. its a small netbook
