get rid of the pink horizontal lines on my gateway laptop

sometimes when I hit my spacebar to turn off my screensaver, I will see light pink lines scroll up from the bottom of my laptop screen, then in a few minutes, the lines go away.

Try updating your graphics drivers and see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't, plug into an external monitor and see what happens. If the issue persists, you'll probably need a replacement GPU. If not, a new screen.
