Solved! Glossy Laptop Casing Trend

Hey guys. Any idea why we have this trend of glossing casings for laptops? I cannot stand these fingerprint magnets.

Anyone have a suggestion for a laptop with great specs and non glossy? or a solution to the glossy problem. Thanks.

I guess it is what the big laptop makers think everyone likes. Sure, they make the laptop look better/more expensive than they really are, but like you, I'm not a fan. They are impossible to keep clean of fingerprints, etc... One solution is to put a coat of wax on the finish to protect it and minimize what shows up from finger prints and such. It can be hard to find a decent laptop that has matte finish, but they do exist:
