Good for university and light gaming?

I have the opportunity to buy and HP Laptop (http/h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03805427) for 700$ OBO. Wondering if its worth it or if i should go with something cheaper. Mainly meant for dota 2 and learning coding/software engineering.

Look first for the size and portability you need.
Laptops of today do very well with 2 cores and intetrated graphics.
I would buy one with the cheapest/smallest hard drive and replace that with a SSD of sufficient size for your needs. 120-240gb likely.
I happen to like the keyboard and build of the Lenovo thinkpads best.
