Good Laptop Under $300 CAD

Have to buy a new laptop for school on a budget.

I will mainly be using the laptop to create word documents. browse the internet, and watch youtube videos.

I am considering buying the following.

Lenovo G80 W/ i3-4030u Processor, Intel HD 4400 Graphics, 4 GB Ram, 1 TB HDD. $285 CAD including taxes.

Although it is a rather old laptop it suites my needs and is within my budget.

Anyone else have any other suggestions ? Also is Lenovo a good brand (never had one before) ?

Yup that's a good deal. i3-4030u Processor is a bit older but I think it should perform well for your works. If you can work with less storage then consider Acer Cloudbook and HP Stream laptops as well. Or how chromebooks sound to you? They will be able to do all works you stated and they have long lasting battery as well...

Lenovo is an excellent brand, especially their business related laptops Such as the T, P, and X1 series. Some people don't like that they are a Chinese company and they have had a few controversies but nothing really that unusual for a huge company like Lenovo. After all you can not make every one happy, all the time.

My next laptop will most likely be a Lenovo X1 Carbon.

ASUS F555LA-AB31 is also a good choice. By the way, i have an HP laptop w/ i3 5010U, GT 830M, 1 TB HDD and 4 GB RAM.It works great, even ran MGSVTPP smoothly!!!
