Good portable headphone amplifier

Solution
i find that a bit odd.

i'm using 38ohm cans myself (so are just a tad harder to drive than yours) and my ipod classic and cellphone drive them perfectly fine.

i'd double check that it was not just some eq settings first though.
the hd439 shouldnt need an amp at only 32ohm impedence... but if they do react great to one then i'd definitely go for a cheap fiio if you are on a budget. they shouldnt need any more than that.

there are more expensive and more powerful amps out there but i dont think it will be practical or needed over what you have already picked out.

Okay thanks, for me when they are just plugged into my ipod they are lacking that "boom" that i noticed when i plugged them into my big amp
