Hi. Looking into whether this setup will work fine and which mic to go for.

• Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen
• beyerdynamic 990 PRO
• Either the AT2020 OR rode podmic

So my questions are:
Will this setup be adequate? (either with at2020 or podmic)
and
Which microphone would you recommend between the two or any similar in price?

Adequate, sure for most people it's a good setup. Audio setup is a personal preference once you get to a certain level of quality. The mics are both good, you may want to read over reviews to see if they have any quirks in setup, extra noise or issues with certain frequencies.
