Google Chrome can't connect to proxy server and I can't change LAN settings. What do I do ? I unchecked the proxy box but stil

I unchecked the proxy box but still doesn't work then when I connect back into the LAN settings the box is check off again like its automatic

Has this ever worked? Need some details about the issue, how/when did this start? Is this a laptop from work? If you can't change the proxy setting, that is usually done by a policy setup for the laptop.
