That's exciting news! It would be a fun learning experience for both children and adults. I know VR has been around, but for those who aren't enthusiasts and aren't willing to fork out hundreds on one of those gaming headsets, this is the best alternative. Also, this approach to VR is a good foundation for virtual video experiments.

Google Cardboard is accommodating larger phones... and so are third-party businesses. There are awesome third-party VR headsets out there. I'm especially looking forward to the Powis ViewR at http://powiscustom.com/products/powis-viewr. It's nicely designed, and it has dual adjustable lenses... which is perfect for me since my eyesight varies in each eye.
