I got an answer (lol): It will put out 5.1 to headset ONLY if the headset itself supports it, else it should automaticly go back to normal stereo, but even then the sounddiffrence should be notable depending on your full setup.
Question answered.
So i can change from stereo to surround and surround to stereo?
Yes ofcourse not a problem at all, you might want to check out headsets or start another thread about headsets.
You have headsets with physical 5.1 speakers in it and virtualized/optimized big sound diffrences with both their cons and pro's, i actually got a gamecom 380 headset with a huge sony speaker equipment.
Connecting it to just onboard without soundcard it just doesnt pump enough power through the headset, connected to my sony speakers directly its just UNBELIEVEBLE sound for the price.
I still cant believe what ive got for the price, if your looking for a decent headset to start with 30-40 dollars for the gamecom 380!
