GPS on Windows XP laptop?

Hey, I'm looking to use my ThinkPad X60 laptop (running Windows XP professional) as a GPS, for as little as possible - what would I need? A USB GPS receiver and mapping software? If so, could anyone recommend anything they've used so I can be sure it'll all work together?

Thanks!

The cheapest I could think about is Microsoft' Streets and Trips + GPS Receiver. It is usually about $70 (USA retail) but from time to time it's on sale (I got mine for $39.95 + tax). It is pretty good in for everyday navigation.

Other combos I've seen is De Lorme' Street Atlas (never used it). If you want to go separate route, the 'Net is full of GPS receivers, and you can get Windows navigation from many known vendors. I have seen TomTom and iGo having one.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about - no one seems to have a cheaper setup that'll "just work" that isn't Streets and Trips - I'll have to buy that when it's on sale. Thanks a lot!
